Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the assigned area, hire and train staff, and drive safe, efficient production to meet schedules. You will oversee quality, enforce safety practices, and coordinate with planning to optimize throughput.

Candidates should have strong leadership and communication skills, with a minimum of five years in a supervisory role and a high school diploma or equivalent. Occasional shifts at other Thorlabs locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a similar role.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the assigned area and responsible for hiring, training, and performance management of staff.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and production goals for volume and quality are met.
• Maintain training records and ensure staff are up to date on required certifications.
• Coordinate with Production Planning to meet on-time delivery and respond to capacity demands.
• Identify issues and work with Engineering/Management to implement solutions.
