Job summary

Abbott’s Infectious Disease division in Scarborough, Maine, is hiring a Quality Control Team Leader for the 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm, M-F). You will oversee QC technicians, enforce quality system procedures, review batch records, and ensure timely product release under FDA/ISO/USDA regulations.

You will coordinate testing, calibrate equipment, train staff, and drive continuous improvement in QC processes to meet quality objectives and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field.
• 3+ years' laboratory/Quality Control experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, facilitates and reviews in-process and final release testing for all products
• Plans, assigns and directs the daily work activities in the Quality Control lab
• Ensures effective transitions between shifts
• Works closely with other departments to ensure on-time product release per schedule
• Works with Quality Control Manager to meet/exceed objectives
• Trains Quality Control technicians
• Performs in-process and final release testing
• Calibrates and maintains QC laboratory equipment
• Initiates and authors Quality Incidents (QI)
• Reviews/approves SOPs as necessary
• Assists Manager in troubleshooting and other projects
• Provides support for technical and quality issues
• Communicates quality issues to QC management in a timely manner
• Coaches, mentors and trains QC Technicians in a positive team environment
