Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Quality Control technician in Hagerstown, MD to monitor and document quality control measures. This full-time, on-site role offers a competitive pay and full benefits package, including health coverage and a 401(k).

Responsibilities include inspecting incoming materials, in-process checks, sampling finished lumber, and maintaining records. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a willingness to learn the treating process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Verify in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the Treating Operator and Supervisor.
• Sample all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests on Lumber.
• Identify and segregate products for re-work and complete documentation to confirm re-work.
• Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs.
• Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with company policies.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
• Learn the Treating Process and assist operator in daily operations tasks.

Education
