Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a shipping and receiving clerk for the 2nd shift at the Hagerstown, MD location. This full-time role offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will verify incoming and outgoing shipments, prepare items for shipment, and help maintain inventory and yard traffic to support efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• 6 months related experience
• Lumber experience a plus!

• Verifies and records information on incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and coordinates with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Places identifying information on material upon arrival at the plant site.
• Routes items to inventory.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications and maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Maintains flow of traffic through yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.

Summary:

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Responsible for placing identifying information on material upon arrival at the plant site.
• Routes items to inventory.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Maintains flow of traffic through yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.
• Assists in stacking lumber or moving product by hand as needed.
