Quality Control Specialitst – Job Description
Department: Quality Control
Reports to: Quality Control Manager
Pay Grade: $15.00 Hour
Status: Regular, Full Time
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Schedule: M-F Hybrid out of Ann Arbor, MI
Summary & Purpose Of Position
The Quality Control Specialist is primarily responsible for preparing and gathering the appropriate documentation or information for the Quality Control Auditor’s review.
The Quality Control Team safeguards the company against potential risk, and ensures that we remain compliant with the underwriting and regulatory standards. The Quality Control Specialist should exercise a high level of confidentiality and have a strong attention to detail in this role.
Primary Position-specific Responsibilities
- Self-Motivation: Demonstrate the ability to remain focused and driven without direct supervision. This includes setting personal goals, maintaining a strong work ethic, and consistently delivering high-quality results.
- Time Management: Effectively manage time in both remote and in-office environments by prioritizing tasks, setting deadlines, and adhering to schedules to ensure productivity and meet project timelines.
- Perform Re-Verification Tasks: Conduct various re-verification processes as required.
- Loan Selection Review: Review and track loan selections for different audit types, ensuring completeness and compliance.
- Timely Completion: Ensure all assigned loan selections are completed within defined timeframes.
- Credit and Disclosure Review: Conduct credit re-verifications, review files for all disclosures, and verify the completeness and accuracy of loan files selected for audit.
- Quality Control Support: Provide backup support to Quality Control Auditors during the loan import process, including running credit reports and performing verbal verifications as needed.
- Policy and Procedure Assistance: Assist in the development and implementation of Quality Control policies and procedures.
- Verification Orders: Order fraud reports, employment and asset re-verifications, field reviews, and other verification types as necessary.
- Administrative Duties: Perform data entry, manage and maintain files, handle correspondence, and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Database Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain accurate databases and records.
- Team Support: Provide general administrative and operational support to the QC team.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Collaboration: Work independently and collaboratively, both onsite and remotely, as part of a dynamic team.
- Other Duties: Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Must be dependable with meeting deadlines and managing time.
- Have the ability to multitask.
- Must exercise a high level of confidentiality.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Prior experience with Encompass 360, a plus.
