Job summary

Whirlwind Steel seeks a Quality Manager to lead the QA program across our Houston facilities. You will recruit, hire, and mentor the Quality Control staff, oversee visual weld inspection, UT nondestructive testing, and maintain documentation to support manufacturing while minimizing production disruption.

The role directs quality processes, ensures compliance with accreditation programs, drives continuous improvement, and schedules audits.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) by AWS.
• ASNT Level II UT certification.
• Canadian Welding Supervisor Certification.
• Proven knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to motivate and direct staff.
• Strong writing skills to document technical topics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Quality Action Plans
• Assist with nonconforming part disposition and corrective actions
• Maintain and update the Quality Systems Manual
• Verify conformance with the QSM
• Maintain a well-qualified staff of Quality Inspectors
• Develop procedures to allow adequate inspection with minimal delay to production
• Be subject matter expert for welding processes used
