Job Description
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) provides leadership, coordination, guidance, and technical expertise in all areas of quality. The QCM is responsible for the overall daily operations of quality, developing and administering quality-related policies, procedures, techniques, and initiatives to ensure consistent adherence across projects.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of Construction Standards and Best Practices
- Working knowledge of the International Building Code and experience with diverse project types
- Ability to delegate tasks and supervise performance
- Excellent analytical skills
- Highly organized and systematic in thinking and processes
- Proficiency in Procore, Viewpoint, SharePoint, MS Office
- Associate or bachelor degree in Quality Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 6 years of construction experience as a Quality Control Manager
Essential Job Duties:
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to develop processes that ensure 100% compliant work exceeding expectations
- Maintain active relationships with engineers, consultants, and industry associations
- Assist in developing project-specific quality management plans and ensure their implementation
- Build and maintain system templates for DFOW activities
- Prepare DFOW for projects as per the Quality Management Plan
- Participate in project meetings, conduct site visits, and inspections
- Review specifications, reference codes, standards, and contract drawings
- Provide training and coaching to project team members on quality and risk management
- Work closely with the Quality and Construction Science Department to utilize technological advancements
- Independently act as CQCM, coordinating all QC functions to avoid construction delays
- Document and communicate deficiencies for timely correction (NCR Log)
- Maintain records of quality control activities and tests
- Identify and resolve problems promptly, analyze information, and develop solutions
- Initiate and conduct Three Phase Inspection process, including daily observations and documentation
- Chair and document weekly QC meetings with stakeholders and external team members
- Ensure all project materials conform to specifications and are stored appropriately
- Oversee QC/QA reports to ensure construction quality standards
