Job summary

Badger Color Concentrates, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Quality Control / Laboratory Technician in Mukwonago, WI. The role focuses on reading specifications, weighing formulations, and producing color samples using lab and molding equipment.

You will evaluate color and quality with analytical tools, perform tests like melt flow and FTIR, and record results. Opportunities for growth and hands-on training are included in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in manufacturing, quality control, laboratory work, plastics, or color matching preferred but not required.
• Ability to distinguish color differences accurately.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn; able to work overtime/weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Read batch tickets and product specifications.
• Weigh and prepare color formulations.
• Produce color samples using laboratory and molding equipment.
• Evaluate product color and quality using visual inspection and analytical instruments.
• Make color adjustments to ensure specifications are met.
• Perform quality tests such as melt flow, FTIR, moisture analysis, ash testing, and other lab evaluations.
• Record and maintain accurate quality and production documentation.
• Communicate quality concerns and test results to production and management teams.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
• Support general laboratory and quality department activities.

Quality Control / Laboratory Technician

Location: Mukwonago, WI

Contract type: Full-time

Available Shifts

• 1st Shift – Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• 2nd Shift – Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
  • $1.00/hour shift premium
• 3rd Shift – Sunday-Thursday, 11:30 PM - 8:00 AM
  • $2.50/hour shift premium

Training will be conducted on 1st shift (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM).

Responsibilities

• Reading batch tickets and product specifications.
• Weighing and preparing color formulations.
• Producing color samples using laboratory and molding equipment.
• Evaluating product color and quality using visual inspection and analytical instruments.
• Making color adjustments to ensure products meet specifications.
• Performing quality tests such as melt flow, FTIR, moisture analysis, ash testing, and other laboratory evaluations.
• Recording and maintaining accurate quality and production documentation.
• Communicating quality concerns and test results to production and management teams.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
• Assisting with general laboratory and quality department activities.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, quality control, laboratory work, plastics, or color matching is preferred but not required.
• Ability to distinguish color differences accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to follow procedures and work independently.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed.
