ColonialWebb Contractors is hiring a Quality Control Inspector for manufacturing. The ideal candidate is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) responsible for ensuring welding and mechanical pipe work meet codes, standards, and guidelines.

This role supports continuous quality improvement across the manufacturing process. You will conduct welding qualification testing, maintain qualification records, and drive quality initiatives with the management team.

Qualifications

• Experience with QA/QC in manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with welding standards and inspection methods.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise welding qualification testing per ASME IX / AWS D1.1.
• Collaborate with management to foster a quality culture across departments.
• Maintain welder qualification records with in-house tracking.
• Perform welding visual inspections per applicable codes/standards.
• Coordinate scheduling of non-destructive testing with outside contractors.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues.
• Analyze inspection data and prepare management summaries.

Job Tittle: Quality Control Inspector - Manufacturing Reports to: Quality Manager Pay range: $20-25/hr. Description ColonialWebb is hiring a Quality Control Inspector. Ideally the person in this role is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). This position is instrumental in ensuring all welding and mechanical pipe work meets required codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines. This position ensures quality compliance and actively contributes to process efficiency and continuous quality improvement. The Quality Control Inspector champions the successful implementation of the quality improvement methods at every stage throughout the manufacturing process.

A day in the life:

• Conduct/supervise welding qualification testing in accordance with ASME Section IX and/or AWS D1.1 requirements
• Work with management and supervisors to instill quality culture throughout all departments
• Maintain welder qualification records using an in-house tracking system
• Conduct welding visual inspection in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Coordinate scheduling of non-destructive testing by outside contractors
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions for quality issues
• Analyze inspection data and generate summary reports for management / manufacturing team

You should have:

• Experience with quality assurance / quality control
• Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Education

• Understanding of product design, operation, and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of ANSI/AISC 360-16 Specification of Structural Steel Building, Chapter N (Quality Control and Quality Assurance).
• Knowledge of ASME 31.1 & B31.9
