Job summary

ColonialWebb is hiring a Quality Control Inspector in Richmond, VA to ensure welding and mechanical pipe work meets required codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role champions quality compliance and supports process improvement across the manufacturing workflow.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with knowledge of ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1, experience with welder qualification records, and the ability to coordinate NDT scheduling and data analysis for

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector certification is required or strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1 is expected.
• Experience with quality assurance in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct/supervise welding qualification testing per ASME IX or AWS D1.1.
• Maintain welder qualification records in an in-house system.
• Perform welding visual inspection according to codes and standards.
• Coordinate scheduling of non-destructive testing by outside contractors.
• Analyze inspection data and generate summary reports for management.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.

Ideally the person in this role is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). This position is instrumental in ensuring all welding and mechanical pipe work meets required codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines. This position ensures quality compliance and actively contributes to process efficiency and continuous quality improvement.
