ColonialWebb Contractors Company in Richmond, VA is hiring a Quality Control Inspector, ideally a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). This role ensures welding and mechanical pipe work meet codes and quality standards across manufacturing processes.

You will conduct welding qualification testing, maintain qualification records, perform visual inspections, coordinate NDT scheduling, and drive root-cause analysis to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience with quality assurance / quality control.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and NDT Level II Visual Testing Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct/supervise welding qualification testing in accordance with ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1.
• Maintain welder qualification records using an in-house tracking system.
• Conduct welding visual inspection in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate scheduling of non-destructive testing by outside contractors.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions for quality issues.
• Analyze inspection data and generate summary reports for management.

Ideally the person in this role is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). This position is instrumental in ensuring all welding and mechanical pipe work meets required codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines.
