Job summary

DuHadaway Tool and Die Shop in Newark, DE is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to examine turbine components, manufactured parts, and in-process work for conformance to blueprints, BOMs and GD&T. This full-time role requires strong measurement skills and attention to detail.

You will use height gauges, micrometers, CMMs, and other inspection tools, maintain accurate records, and support quality assurance in a climate-controlled shop with competitive benefits and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in manufacturing or machining.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, BOMs, and GD&T.
  • Proficient in precision measurement and interpretation of measurements.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team, follow processes and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect turbine components, manufactured parts, and in-process work for dimensional accuracy.
  • Use precision inspection equipment and read engineering drawings, BOMs and GD&T.
  • Complete and maintain inspection reports and quality records.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming conditions.
  • Support QA activities and ensure equipment calibration compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and participate in training.

Quality Control InspectorLocation: Newark, DelawarePay: $27.00-$31.00 per hour, based on experience and qualificationsSchedule: Full-TimeAvailable Shifts:1st Shift: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.2nd Shift: 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.2nd Shift Differential: Additional 10%Position SummaryDuHadaway Tool and Die Shop is seeking experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspectors to join our ISO 9001-registered Industrial Turbine Component Repair Division. This position is responsible for inspecting turbine components, manufactured parts, and in-process work to verify compliance with engineering drawings, Bills of Material, customer specifications, and established quality standards.Our family-owned company offers a clean, climate-controlled work environment, excellent benefits, overtime opportunities, and the chance to build a long-term career with a company that has been delivering quality workmanship for more than 65 years.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInspect turbine components, manufactured parts, and in-process work for dimensional accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.Use precision measuring and inspection equipment, including:- Height gagesVerniersOutside and inside micrometersThread gagesDepth micrometersDial indicatorsBore gagesCoordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipmentPerform first article and in-process inspections on the shop floor.Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), customer specifications, work instructions, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Complete and maintain accurate inspection reports, quality records, and other required documentation.Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming conditions.Work closely with Production and other departments to investigate and resolve quality issues.Support Quality Assurance activities and follow established quality-management procedures.Verify that inspection equipment is appropriate for the required measurement and within its designated calibration period.Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and other material-handling equipment as required.Handle components carefully to prevent damage during inspection and movement.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and procedures.Participate in required training and continuous-improvement activities.QualificationsQualified candidates must:Have a minimum of three to five years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing or machining environment.Have demonstrated experience accurately using and interpreting measurements from precision inspection equipment.Be experienced in the setup and use of:- Height gagesVerniersOutside and inside micrometersThread gagesDepth micrometersDial indicatorsBore gagesBe able to accurately read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, Bills of Material, customer specifications, and work instructions.Have a working knowledge of GD&T fundamentals.Possess strong mathematical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship and accuracy.Be able to follow established processes, procedures, and written and verbal instructions.Communicate effectively and work independently or as part of a team.Have a valid driver's license.Be at least 18 years of age.Have a high school diploma or GED.Successfully pass a pre-employment physical, lift assessment, and drug screening.Preferred QualificationsExperience operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment.Experience with the ZEISS CONTURA 2 and CALYPSO operating system.Experience inspecting industrial turbine components or other large, close-tolerance components.Experience working in a precision machining, component repair, or refurbishment environment.Experience working in an ISO 9001 quality environment.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.Ability to safely lift and move materials while performing the physical requirements of the position.Manual dexterity to safely use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.Visual acuity sufficient to read engineering drawings, measuring instruments, inspection results, and other detailed information.Ability to safely operate or work around overhead cranes, hoists, industrial machinery, and other manufacturing equipment.BenefitsDuHadaway Tool and Die Shop offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:Competitive wagesAdditional 10% shift differential for 2nd ShiftOvertime opportunitiesAnnual wage increases and performance incentives40 hours of paid vacation after the first six monthsThree weeks of paid vacation during the first yearEleven paid holidaysFour paid personal/sick days during the first yearMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Company-paid life insurance401(k) plan with company matchingOpportunities for advancement and long-term career growthClimate-controlled manufacturing facilitiesWhy Join DuHadaway Tool and Die Shop?For more than 65 years, DuHadaway Tool and Die Shop has earned a reputation for quality, integrity, and precision craftsmanship.
