Job summary

Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to join our Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) project in Honolulu, HI.

You will inspect to contract specifications, develop working knowledge of the QC program, perform inspections and witness tests, maintain records, and coordinate with other departments on schedules for this multi‑billion dollar civil project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar
• 5+ years of experience in support of design-build or heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision or management
• 5+ years of quality control, inspection experience in concrete, piling, rebar, structural, earthwork, electrical
• Strong understanding of contract specifications as they apply to quality control/assurance

Responsibilities

• Inspect to contract specifications the assigned discipline
• Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc.
• Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work
• Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents
• Preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.
• Coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules
• Participate in internal/external quality control audits
• Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
