Job summary

H.B. Fuller in Mesquite, TX, is recruiting a Quality & Continuous Improvement Intern to support the Quality and Operations teams in reducing waste, rework, and batch failures. You will collect and analyze process data, identify root causes, and help implement corrective actions in a manufacturing setting.

The internship offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to Food Safety/Quality initiatives, with reporting to the Quality Manager and collaboration across plant personnel.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Excel and Office; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support projects to reduce manufacturing waste, rework, and material losses.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data related to waste, rework, batch failures, and process performance.
• Identify trends by product, process step, shift, and other factors.
• Assist root-cause investigations using 5 Why, Pareto analysis, and fishbone diagrams.
• Work with Operations and Quality to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Support development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Follow up on improvement actions and track effectiveness.
• Document processes, findings, action plans, and results.
• Conduct floor observations and communicate findings to teams.
• Support Quality and Food Safety initiatives assigned.
• Prepare summaries and presentations of project findings and results.
• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.
