Job summary

H.B. Fuller is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support manufacturing, maintenance, quality and continuous improvement initiatives at the Houston, TX facility.

You will lead projects that improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety, and product quality while working with cross-functional teams. The internship runs 12 weeks from end of May to mid-August, with hands-on experience, an orientation, and opportunities to present results to site leadership, managers, and peers;

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Rising junior or senior standing in one of the listed engineering disciplines.
• Comfortable working in a production or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with maintenance and reliability projects, including preventive maintenance optimization, asset management, and critical spare parts strategies.
• Analyze production, maintenance, and quality data to identify trends, solve problems, and drive sustainable operational improvements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, equipment drawings, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Lead cross-functional projects across operations, maintenance, quality, and safety, presenting recommendations and results to site leadership.
• Implement continuous improvement tools to drive best practices within the Houston facility.
