Job summary

Phoenix Children's iS seeking a Quality Consultant-Surgical to identify and improve surgical performance and patient safety practices at the bedside, focusing on the Children’s Surgery Program. The role conducts surgical case reviews, liaises with the division, and ensures postoperative issues are addressed from a quality-improvement standpoint.

The Consultant collaborates with physician and clinician champions to use data to identify opportunities for quality improvement and patient safety

Qualifications

• Experience with NSQIP and Children’s Surgery Verification.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train and educate others on reliability and performance improvement tools.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and improves surgical care using high reliability processes.
• Assesses patient surgical care processes for safety/risk issues using NSQIP and performance measures.
• Proficient at communication, connecting with staff and influencing change.
• Sets goals for areas of responsibility and works with liaisons to attain improvement.
• Maintains connection with the big picture while implementing at the micro level.
