Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation’s Tanner, AL facility seeks a Technician for the Quality Chemical Lab. You will prepare specimens, perform instrumental analyses, and ensure data integrity in LIMS.

The role requires careful handling of samples and adherence to SOPs in a production environment. Experience with optical emission spectrometers and related lab equipment is essential, as is the ability to follow complex procedures and document results accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; related lab training preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience; six months as Technician I required.
• Knowledge of chemical lab testing procedures and statistical analysis methods.
• Experience with lab instrumentation software and LIMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel, alloy and slag specimens for analysis using multiple equipment.
• Analyze specimens with C/S, N/O fusion and optical emission spectrometers.
• Maintain and calibrate test instruments and perform routine maintenance.
• Register specimens into the electronic laboratory management system (LIMS).
