Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation's Tanner, AL facility is seeking a Technician I - Quality Chemical Lab to support the preparation and analysis of steel, alloy and slag specimens. You will operate equipment, prepare samples, and handle routine maintenance under supervision to ensure accurate test results.

Qualifications

High school diploma is required; additional demonstrated relevant experience is preferred.
Associate Degree in Chemistry or two years in a physical science curriculum is also preferred.
Entry level position: with training, individuals are expected to fully qualify for this position within six months.

Responsibilities

Prepare test specimens for analysis using various equipment and maintain SOPs.
Inspect test specimens for acceptable quality criteria and request replacements as needed.
Analyze furnace and product specimens using C/S and N/O fusion instruments under direction.
Register new test specimens in the electronic laboratory management system (LIMS).
