Job summary

White Castle is hiring a Quality Assurance Supervisor at the Vandalia Plant to assist the Quality Manager in ensuring products meet USDA/FDA specs and food safety standards. You will lead Quality Team Members and drive continuous improvements in HACCP, SQF, GMPs and related programs.

This role demands a degree in Food Science, Biology or related field, strong management skills, and 3–5 years of production/root-cause analysis experience, with the ability to train staff and implement robust QA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology or related field with general knowledge of statistical process control, bacterial control, and sanitation methods is required;
• Excellent management and human relations skills are a must;
• Three to five years’ experience in production methods and root cause analysis preferred;
• Must have strong knowledge and experience with SQF, FDA, and USDA Regulations and Directives, HACCP, SOP’s, and GMP’s;
• Self-starter and able to anticipate work requirements.

• Selection, supervision, training, and guidance of Quality Team Members;
• Coordination, development, and supervision of policies and procedures relating to food safety and quality including: GMP’s, HACCP, SSOP’s, SQF and other programs relating to food quality and safety;
• Perform pre-operational and operational facility inspections to identify problems and offer practical solutions to those problems;
• Perform raw material and finished product inspections and analyses.Train Quality Team Members to perform these functions;
• Maintain and procure inventory of quality, sanitation, safety, and production supplies.

The WCD Vandalia Plant is looking to fill an opening for a Quality Assurance Supervisor. This position is to assist and support the Quality Manager in various Quality areas.Monitor the condition of raw materials before and during production and finished products after they are manufactured to ensure they meet White Castle USDA and FDA specifications.This position will be responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Control Program to ensure finished products meet specifications. Incumbent will give guidance, direction, and training to all Team Members with regard to quality, food safety, HACCP, Food Defense, SQF, and GMP requirements.

Availability to Work & Physical Requirements

• Flexible to change schedule and hours of work to meet the needs of the plant;
• Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time and lift, push or pull 75 pounds with regularity.
