Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a entry-level Quality Engineer/Inspector to join its Power District Quality team. The role focuses on reporting quality performance issues, supporting QA/QC activities, and acting as liaison to customers, vendors and subs on quality matters.

Base compensation ranges from $77,000 to $86,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for travel to project sites across North America. Strong communication and technical writing are essential.

Qualifications

• At least four years’ engineering or science degree or technical college degree plus two years’ experience in related construction field.
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Must be able to clearly communicate the status of quality on a project.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills, ability to research and work with detailed/technical matters and convey/explain the information to field personnel
• Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and SharePoint software programs as well as able to quickly learn other software applications
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks with deadlines and potentially frequent interruptions

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with district management, project management teams and engineers/clients as required.
• Examine and inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered; take corrective action as needed.
• Identify potential safety hazards and take all necessary corrective actions to eliminate or minimize them.
• Maintain knowledge of the Kiewit/TIC Quality Management System and procedures and promote standardization.
• Manage Welding Procedure Specification log and files for assigned districts.
• Assist in conducting project quality audits and reports.
