This position involves managing quality control for both shop fabrication and field erection across two separate facilities. Your scope of work will encompass AISC and ASME/API projects, including DOT bridges, railroad infrastructure, moveable bridges, structural steel buildings, miscellaneous steel, pressure vessels, large‑scale tanks, piping, ductwork, stacks, hoppers, and heavy plate weldments.

Operational Requirements

• Be prepared for occasional evening or weekend shifts to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Regular presence in both shop and field fabrication settings is mandatory.
• Maintain the ability to operate effectively in an office setting and deliver professional client presentations.
• Possess the physical capability to engage in training, meetings, and audits across shop, office, and field locations.
• Travel is necessary for off‑site audits, consultations, and evaluations, requiring a valid passport.

Core Responsibilities

• Spearhead the creation and implementation of quality assurance protocols and testing benchmarks to improve overall process outcomes.
• Help maintain a safe and compliant working environment by ensuring all quality measures align with regulatory and industry standards.
• Design methodologies for data collection to help optimize welding efficiency and ensure high‑level fabrication quality.
• Conduct thorough project reviews before fabrication begins to ensure the QC team is fully prepared for all requirements.
• Support client and third‑party inspections to facilitate seamless compliance with quality specifications.
• Investigate and refine welding and fabrication techniques to support both new and existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive test plans and audits to track defects, ensuring our internal QA manuals and client project requirements are consistently met.
• Author and maintain quality control manuals and operational systems.
• Develop a field-specific QA manual aligned with API standards to enhance our professional image and support successful project bidding.
• Utilize established performance metrics to evaluate the readiness and functionality of our equipment and processes.
• Maintain dynamic QA documentation, including test plans and manuals, ensuring they remain current and effective.
• Perform internal audits to verify that fabrication, erection, and welding processes meet our established quality standards.
• Oversee the integration of new equipment into our fabrication systems to ensure they meet technical and functional specifications.
• Provide regular updates on testing progress and results to executive leadership and project managers.
• Lead the quality control department to ensure all project requirements are successfully achieved.
• Foster professional growth by training, coaching, and mentoring QC and junior team members.
• Manage personnel matters, including performance reviews, compensation adjustments, and disciplinary actions as required.
