Hercules Materials Holdings – QC Manager – Metro Detroit / Warren, MI.

Hercules Materials Holdings is currently seeking a QC Manager to help manage our quality efforts for our ready mix concrete plants in Metro Detroit.In this role, the QC Supervisor oversees the technicians we have at each plant. Our QC team tests materials during all phases of concrete production. They also do research and development for future projects at our lab in Warren.

Compensation: $72,000 - $90,000 annually, based on experience. Weekend Shift Incentive of $50/hr for weekend work.

What we do:

We are a concrete / ready mix supplier in Metro Detroit. Our QC team is responsible for the technical analysis and control through our 8 ready mix concrete plants, aggregate mines and facilities, our cement terminal and storage locations, and the Hercules Materials Technical Center. Our team provides technical support including material analysis, mix design creation, and more to our internal team and customers.

Essential Functions of our QC Supervisor:

• Act as a company liaison between our production team, sales, site engineers, inspectors and customers, addressing concerns and complaints (communication)
• Plan and coordinate the workload for 8-10 quality technicians
• Train new hires, and provide continuous training to current technicians
• Communicate with Plant Managers so they are prepared for quality issues that may arise
• Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies.
• Monitor daily concrete testing, initiate corrective actions with technicians and delivery personnel.
• Present favorable company image to customers and employees.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of related experience in the concrete, construction materials industry
• Experience testing concrete, documenting, and reporting
• Understanding of MDOT QA/QC practices
• Able to effectively communicate, investigate and solve practical problems individually and as part of a team
• Strong leadership skills
• MCA, ACI, and/or NRMCA certified professionals preferred
