Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 (Depending on Experience)
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA. This is a direct hire opportunity for an experienced quality professional who will oversee and ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 standards and customer quality requirements across all departments.
This is a leadership role responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory compliance, audits, and a team of quality inspectors to support product excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interface with customers on all quality-related matters
- Oversee and enhance QMS policies/procedures to maintain all certifications
- Maintain AS9100 certifications and liaise with 3rd-party registrars
- Conduct internal audits and maintain audit documentation
- Lead corrective/preventive actions and verify their effectiveness
- Monitor and report on internal and external audit non-conformities
- Present management reviews of the QMS to senior leadership
- Lead problem-solving events and implement process improvements
- Develop and execute quality plans that ensure regulatory and customer compliance
- Act as the point of contact for regulatory and accrediting bodies
- Maintain all regulatory documentation and records
- Manage external audits (customer, government, and third-party)
- Ensure facility-wide adherence to QMS procedures and best practices
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate quality staff to align with performance goals
- Oversee inspection processes and risk mitigation activities
- Support the development and implementation of project management training programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in quality management (aerospace industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems
- Familiarity with international and aerospace quality standards and implementation
- Experience with quality manufacturing systems, defect analysis, and process controls
- Skilled in developing and executing audits, CAPA systems, and QMS improvement initiatives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Typical office environment with occasional presence in production areas
- May require occasional evening and weekend work
