Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Richmond, VA

Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 (Depending on Experience)

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA. This is a direct hire opportunity for an experienced quality professional who will oversee and ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 standards and customer quality requirements across all departments.

This is a leadership role responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory compliance, audits, and a team of quality inspectors to support product excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interface with customers on all quality-related matters
• Oversee and enhance QMS policies/procedures to maintain all certifications
• Maintain AS9100 certifications and liaise with 3rd-party registrars
• Conduct internal audits and maintain audit documentation
• Lead corrective/preventive actions and verify their effectiveness
• Monitor and report on internal and external audit non-conformities
• Present management reviews of the QMS to senior leadership
• Lead problem-solving events and implement process improvements
• Develop and execute quality plans that ensure regulatory and customer compliance
• Act as the point of contact for regulatory and accrediting bodies
• Maintain all regulatory documentation and records
• Manage external audits (customer, government, and third-party)
• Ensure facility-wide adherence to QMS procedures and best practices
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate quality staff to align with performance goals
• Oversee inspection processes and risk mitigation activities
• Support the development and implementation of project management training programs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in quality management (aerospace industry preferred)
• Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems
• Familiarity with international and aerospace quality standards and implementation
• Experience with quality manufacturing systems, defect analysis, and process controls
• Skilled in developing and executing audits, CAPA systems, and QMS improvement initiatives
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Typical office environment with occasional presence in production areas
• May require occasional evening and weekend work
