Job summary

Grüns Roanoke, TX is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to guide QA Technicians, verify packaging records, and ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 111, HACCP, SQF, and GMPs at our Roanoke facility.

The role supervises daily QA activities, reviews batch records, and drives continuous improvement of MMRs and forms. You will partner with Operations and the Facility Quality Manager to uphold food safety culture and product integrity.

Qualifications

• Prior QA experience in food or regulated packaging/manufacturing operations.
• Experience reviewing batch records and working with MMRs.
• Working knowledge of HACCP plans and CCP verification.
• Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 111, GMPs, and SQF or similar system.
• Ability to interpret SOPs and quality documents.
• Experience with sanitation/ATP verification and metal detection.
• Proficient with MS Office and electronic records; strong communication.
• Able to stand for extended periods and work overtime when required.
• Has participated in internal audits and understands QA processes.
• GFSI exposure

Responsibilities

• Provide daily direction, coaching, and on-the-job training to QA Technicians; coordinate inspection priorities across shifts.
• Review Packaging Batch Records for accuracy, signatures, traceability, and deviations.
• Apply knowledge of MMRs to ensure alignment with batch records and escalate discrepancies.
• Support development and continuous improvement of MMRs, Batch Records, and forms.
• Understand HACCP requirements, CCP monitoring, and corrective actions.
• Verify packaging and labeling against approved specs and lot details.
• Oversee routine checks, GMP inspections, and environmental monitoring activities.
• Verify detector checks and document frequencies; escalate issues with product impact.
• Identify nonconforming materials and support investigations and CAPAs.
• Assist with incoming material and finished product inspections.
• Monitor sanitation, allergen controls, line clearance, and changeovers.
• Ensure QA records are legible, accurate, and controlled.
• Participate in internal and regulatory audits, mock recalls, and traceability exercises.
• Communicate quality issues promptly to Operations and the Facility Quality Manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
