Job summary

Key People in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the night shift. You will lead QA personnel on the production floor and in the lab, ensuring products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards while guiding a team through coaching and performance feedback.

This role partners with Production and other departments to address quality concerns, oversee QA programs and internal audits, and drive continuous improvement to strengthen product quality and customer

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable education in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
• Availability to work the stated overnight schedule, with flexibility for additional coverage.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the production floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, set daily priorities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and timely completion of work.
• Develop team members through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to address quality concerns and maintain food safety standards.
• Oversee QA programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Support regulatory, certification, customer, and product specifications.
• Review laboratory results for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify unfavorable trends.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing data and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with audits and assessments.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen product quality and customer satisfaction.
