Qualifications

Quality Assurance QA Lead

Location Pittsburgh PA Hybrid Classification Exempt Status Full Time Purpose The Quality Assurance QA Lead is responsible for driving software quality across our technology portfolio and supporting the delivery of exceptional digital experiences for our Specialty Pharmacy team The QA Lead is responsible for leading quality assurance efforts across multiple projects establishing testing standards and promoting best practices for manual automated and AI assisted testing This role combines hands on testing with leadership responsibilities including mentoring QA team members improving testing processes and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high quality software The ideal candidate for this role will have strong technical knowledge of software QA and emerging AI driven testing methodologies The QA Lead is a collaborative problem solver with excellent communication skills who can drive continuous improvement and help build a culture of quality across the organization

Responsibilities

Develops and oversees test plans test strategies and executes test cases based on business requirementsMonitors and guides the QA process to ensure the delivery of high quality reliable software solutions Promotes and ensures adherence to established QA methodologies processes standards and best practices across the testing lifecycleLeads testing efforts for front end back end and API solutions across mobile and desktop ensuring comprehensive coverage and risk mitigationIdentifies and implements methods and processes tdata quality consistency and integrity across multiple systems and data sourcesValidates data reports and dashboards through comprehensive testing and quality assurance controlsAccountable for QA outcomes including managing defect reporting generating failure logs and identifying quality trends Provides QA leadership and strategic input during team meetings projecting planning sessions and Scrum ceremoniesDevelops and reviews SQL queries used to create analyze and validate test data Communicates testing progress quality metrics risks and release readiness recommendations to stakeholders as the QA subject matter expert across multiple initiativesLeads the design development and implementation of automated testing for desktop and mobile web native applications and desktop applicationsLeverages AI powered testing tools and frameworks to enhance test coverage and efficiencyImplements machine learning models for predictive defect analysis and risk based testingUtilizes AI driven test case generation and optimization techniques to enhance testing effectiveness and productivity Mentors coaches and develops QA engineers building their technical skills in both traditional and AI assisted testing practices to raise the overall capability of the teamLeads initiatives to advance QA capabilities and maturity including introducing new tools frameworks and best practices for manual automated and AI driven testingDefines tracks and reports on QA metrics eg defect escape rate test coverage automation coverage and cycle time to measure quality outcomes and drive continuous improvementEvaluates and champions the adoption of AI powered testing tools and techniques across the QA team to accelerate test creation execution and defect analysisServes as a technical escalation point for complex testing challenges quality risks and testing strategy decisions across projects and teams

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or related technical fieldMinimum of 6 years of progressive experience in software quality assurance with demonstrated experience leading QA initiatives and test efforts; prior lead experience preferredStrong knowledge of software testing methodologies and quality assurance principlesStrong analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective solutionsExcellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical and nontechnical information to diverse stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to analyze interpret and report quality metrics Strong leadership mentoring and coaching skills with the ability to influence othersKnowledge of AI concepts and their use in software testingFamiliarity with AI driven software tools eg Claude Copilot to improve testing efficiency and effectivenessDemonstrated experience mentoring coaching and developing QA engineers fostering both technical growth and continuous learningExperience defining and monitoring QA metrics and KPIssuch as defect escape rate test coverage and automation coverageto evaluate and communicate quality outcomes
