ASTEMO INDIANA, INC. in Tarboro, North Carolina, is seeking a qualified candidate for a GD&T and metrology emphasis role in Manufacturing & Operations.

You will read prints, develop measurement programs for CMM and vision systems, and help ensure quality through calibration management and precise reporting. Ideal candidates have a 2-year technical degree or a 4-year degree with related experience, and familiarity with TS-16949 quality systems.

Qualifications

  • 2 Year Degree in technical discipline or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to read mechanical prints and perform measurements per prints/specs.
  • Knowledge of the Quality System (part approval, corrective/preventive actions).
  • Knowledge of calibration systems with contractual requirements.
  • Highly proficient with Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Minitab.

Responsibilities

  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing — Read, interpret, and decide based on GD&T requirements.
  • Metrology Programming — Develop measurement programs for CMM (MCOSMOS, MiCAT) and vision systems (GEOPAK).
  • Reporting & Documentation — Generate clear, concise reports from measurement data.
  • Inspection & Measurement — Inspect, test, and measure products using analytical equipment and precision hand gauges.
  • Gage Calibration Management — Maintain gage calibration system and coordinate with external providers.
  • Team Support & Collaboration — Assist team on new model development and quality projects.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • 2 Year Degree in technical discipline with 0 years related work experience OR a minimum of 4-years of related work experience

  • Highly efficient with personal computers and common applications such as Windows, MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, MSProject, Minitab.
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • 4 Year Degree+ 0 years related work experience OR 2 Year Degree (or GF)* + 2 years related work experience
  • Experience using laboratory equipment (Scanning Electron Microscope-material analysis, Automated Vision Measurement, X-Ray, Microscope, Environmental test equipment-reliability testing)
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (TS-16949)
  • Ability to program and operate machines such as Mitutoyo CMM using MCOSMOS and MiCAT or Vision system using GEOPAK software
Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting & Documentation — Generate clear, concise, and accurate reports based on specifications and collected measurement data.
  • Inspection & Measurement — Inspect, test, and measure products, components, and materials using analytical equipment and precision hand gages.
  • Gage Calibration Management — Maintain the gage calibration system, including Gagetrak software administration and coordination with external calibration providers.
  • Team Support & Collaboration — Assist team members with new model development, customer requirements, and internal quality or engineering projects.
