Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator in San Bernardino, CA. The role ensures QA program integrity, documentation control, and billing reconciliation, supporting compliance with Medi‑Cal and county standards.

The ideal candidate has a related degree or nursing license with QA and residential care experience. The position follows a Monday–Friday day shift with full benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in child counseling, development, psychology, or a related social science field, or nursing license; six+ years QA experience acceptable in lieu.
• One year of residential care experience or equivalent inpatient psychiatric experience required.
• One year of quality assurance experience required.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Quality Assurance Program.
• Audit documentation to reconcile with billing and oversee staff documentation to assure conformity with Medi‑Cal, County, other agencies, and internal standards and policies.
• Manage all charts with deficiencies by processing them to the appropriate department for correction.
• Ensure that discharged charts are closed in the correct order and completed.
• Oversee the Continuous Quality Assurance program, medical records, and record all CQI data.
• Work Monday – Friday first shift.

TAY Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT)

Division/Program Overview

The TAY Crisis Residential Treatment facility is a short‑term voluntary residential program designed to help Transitional Age Youth (TAY) ages 18‑25 who experience a psychiatric crisis to stabilize, recover, and transition back to the community. Services include 24/7 therapeutic and mental health services, rehabilitation and substance use recovery services, vocational counseling, medication evaluation and support, daily exercise and wellness education, and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Quality Assurance Program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in child counseling, development, psychology, or a related social science field, or nursing license (LVN, LPT, RN). Six (6) or more years of QA experience in a mental health agency or county behavioral health program is acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
• One (1) year of residential care experience or equivalent inpatient psychiatric experience required.
• One (1) year of quality assurance experience required.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• First Aid certification.
