DESCRIPTION

The Capital Markets Group is seeking an IT Intern to help with testing and validation efforts for applications directly supported under the Capital Markets Group. Reporting to IT, the Intern will assist in various testing assignments as well as documentation efforts relating to application support in the Capital Markets group. The Intern will work closely with the Development teams as well as Centralized QA team, and will follow internally defined processes and directives. In addition, the goal of this role is to drive transformation/ and continuous improvement efforts across the QA function for Capital Markets. Other duties is to help with metrics reporting, test planning, documentation and testing/validation of business applications and consuming reports. In addition, work with QA Director to update Quality Center test plan folders, update test cases and ensure there are defined Master Test plans for all key areas across Capital Markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Help provide support to QA and Development Management Function across Bain Capital – Capital Markets Technology.
  • Provide support to application support team as needed as well as validation in QA, Dev and UAT environments.
  • Align testing process with Corporate QA team, follow processes and leverage internally defined QA processes.
  • Assist QA Director in managing Test Backlog for Capital Markets, taking direction and priorities from Development Management.
  • Provide support on gathering Quality Assurance and Change Management metrics.
  • Produce testing statistics / metrics reporting in these key areas of Capital Markets.
  • Assist in Documentation Efforts and Data entry – Update testing documentation in Quality Center, work with off shore team on knowledge transfer and project coordination.
  • Coordinate and set up project meetings.
  • Research and remain current with industry tools and standards for testing.
  • Work in a team oriented environment with shared responsibilities.
  • Understanding of the QA and Change Management function and role it plays in Software Development and IT.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Assist QA Manager with project management support for Test automation effort; work alongside QA management to define automation strategy for regression testing and functional testing in the area of Capital Markets.
TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrates strong computer skills including a good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Nice to have: Ability to create macros, pivot tables and some advanced graphs in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of QA and Testing and the role it plays in Software Development.
  • Knowledge of programming experience a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Understanding of the QA and Change Management function and role it plays in Software Development and IT.
  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in collegiate coursework pursuing a degree in information technology or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexible, ability to change direction and wear multiple hats.
  • Displays good written and oral communication skills.
  • Project Management or Project Team Member experiences a plus.
  • Must be organized and work well with constant priority changes.
  • Must be eager to learn in a professional environment.
COMPENSATION

Expected Hourly Rate of Pay $25.00 – 27.00. Actual hourly rate of pay will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location.
