Job summary

GlobeTax in the Greater NYC area is seeking a QA Analyst to ensure high-quality user experiences across its web-apps and internal win-apps. This hybrid role works on-site in the Greater NYC area with regular hours, focusing on QA throughout the Agile Scrum lifecycle.

You will design and execute manual test cases, report defects in Jira and Confluence, and collaborate with development, business, and product teams to deliver new features and improved functionality.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of software QA experience.
• Knowledge of QA processes, methodologies and procedures.
• Understand database structure and working knowledge of SQL is required.
• Experience testing both Windows and Web-based applications.
• Attention to detail and a "test to break" attitude.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiar with SDLC process and the role of QA in it.
• Experience working in Finance industry (Plus).

You must be located in the greater NYC area. This is NOT a remote role.

Position:

QA Analyst

Office Hours:

Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM (Hybrid - Greater NYC area)

POSITION OBJECTIVES

The main purpose of this role within the company is ensure a high-quality, bug-free user experience for both external, client facing systems (web-apps) and internal, business line used systems (win-apps). To ensure our products meet the business requirements, and functionality required by users. The testing process will include identifying test scenarios. Analyzing business requirements and create/execute test cases/plans. Reporting clear test results, and test status to the various teams. We are looking for a motivated candidate who likes working in a fast-past environment that looks to maximize our Agile Scrum methodology by implemented inline QA testing.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fully understand how users (experienced and inexperienced) may use the system so you can accurately represent the client experience.


• Test software to ensure products meet design specifications and functionality requested by users.


• Work closely with development, business and project management teams to complete requirements and projects that will introduce new features and functionality to all our applications.


• Develop, maintain and execute manual test cases, test scenarios and test plans


• Report, track, and monitor defects in Jira and Confluence.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3-6 years of recent professional Software QA experience


• Knowledge of QA processes, methodologies and procedures


• Understand database structure and working knowledge of SQL is required


• Knowledge of Windows OS, and MS Office Applications (Excel, Word)


• Experience testing both Windows and Web-based applications


• Attention to detail and \"test to break\" attitude


• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

INFORMATION SECURITY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The QA Tester is responsible for:

• Adhering to policies and procedures pertaining to the protection of confidential data


• Reporting actual or suspected vulnerabilities that could impact the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of confidential data


• Maintaining and supporting compliance with security policies


• Attending regular security training sessions
