Job summary

Capstone IT is seeking a Quality Analyst onsite in Richmond, VA to combine business systems analysis, software QA, and test automation. Depending on experience, this position ranges from early-career under senior guidance to senior-level independently solving complex problems and mentoring others.

Responsibilities include researching needs, documenting requirements, creating test plans, tracking defects, and pursuing automation opportunities with Playwright, Selenium, Java, and TypeScript.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or mathematics.
• QA2 requires 3+ years independent BA/QA work and root-cause analysis.
• QA3 requires 5+ years with complex systems analysis, mentoring, and automation.
• Proficiency with HTML, XML, Java, and TypeScript; familiarity with React or Next.js.

Responsibilities

• Research business and user needs and identify root causes of problems.
• Document requirements and recommend system modifications.
• Analyze processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Create, maintain, and execute test plans based on requirements.
• Identify, document, track, and help resolve software defects.
• Perform root-cause analysis when appropriate.
• Determine which test cases are suitable for automation.
• Maintain automated test scripts.
• At QA3 level, develop and enhance automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, Java, and TypeScript.
• Work closely with business users and IT teams.
• Support multiple project assignments at QA2/QA3 levels.
• Align technology solutions with business needs and strategies at the senior level.
• Guide less-experienced Business Systems Analysts at QA3.
