Job summary

Capstone IT is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Tester to join the Information Technology Group in Richmond, VA. This senior role blends quality assurance and test automation, partnering with business and IT teams to understand requirements, analyze processes, and create and execute test plans.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with Java, TypeScript, HTML, XML, Playwright, Selenium, and modern web technologies such as React or Next.js.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of directly related experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related progressive professional experience.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise IT systems.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium test automation.
• Strong understanding of business requirements and technology solutions.
• Proficiency with Java, TypeScript, HTML, and XML.
• Familiarity with React and Next.js.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex business and systems problems and recommend solutions.
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Align technology solutions with business strategies and needs.
• Conduct business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost-benefit analysis.
• Create, maintain, and execute test plans based on business requirements.
• Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot software defects.
• Perform root-cause analysis on application and system issues.
• Determine which test cases are good candidates for automation.
• Develop and maintain automated testing scripts.
• Develop and enhance automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, Java, and TypeScript.
• Support multiple projects within assigned business units.
• Communicate technology requirements and trends between customers and IT.
• Contribute to longer-term systems planning.
• Mentor and advise less-experienced Business Systems Analysts.
• Develop training and share technical and business knowledge with team members.
