Job summary

Southend Pharmacy in Houston, TX is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure safety and quality in the compounding sterile environment in a 503A pharmacy. The role involves routine inspections, environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, testing for sterility, endotoxin, potency, and documentation per USP <797> standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of quality control experience in hospital, pharmacy, sterile compounding, laboratory or related healthcare environment.
• Experience with USP <797> and USP <800>, cGMP principles, and state/federal pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspection/Walkthroughs of the cleanroom to ensure compliance before production.
• Environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and controlled areas for microbial contamination per USP <797>.
• Conduct quality tests on compounded sterile preparations (sterility, endotoxin, potency, pH).
• Maintain records of QC activities, test results and calibration logs.
