Job summary

Southend Pharmacy in Houston, TX is seeking a Lead Hazardous Technician to supervise sterile and hazardous sterile compounding, ensure accuracy and safety, and support a team of technicians in daily production.

You will train staff, schedule shifts, review timecards, maintain batch records, and lead quality checks to meet USP 797/800 standards while coordinating with pharmacists. This full-time on-site role offers a comprehensive benefits package and quarterly bonuses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active RPHT-TX license in good standing.
• Minimum of two (2) years of sterile compounding experience.
• IV Certification with aseptic technique.
• 40 hours of accredited sterile compounding training.
• Familiarity with USP <797> and USP <800>.
• Ability to lead, train, and supervise technicians.
• Preferred: lead or senior technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Compound prescriptions in sterile and hazardous sterile environments.
• Ensure timely and accurate medication distribution.
• Organize and manage medication orders and records.
• Monitor and replenish medication supplies.
• Print batch record shells.
• Complete Pestle log entries.
• Complete Eagle & Pioneer submissions.
• Follow hazardous medication handling, garbing, cleaning, and decontamination procedures.
• Lead shift scheduling and review timecards.
• Attend Leadership meetings.
• Provide training from baseline/SOP for new employees.
• Support production workflow across sterile rooms.
