Job summary

Southend Pharmacy is seeking a Visual Inspection Technician in Houston, TX to perform 100% inspections of finished CSPs and other compounded products in a 503A setting. You will work with QA and staff to ensure product quality and patient safety.

Responsibilities include detecting defects, recording results, and ensuring lot traceability. Requires a high school diploma and pharmacy tech licensure; experience with sterile products and USP <797> is preferred. Competitive benefits and shifts exist.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or certification in pharmacy tech/quality control preferred.
Pharmacy technician registration/licensure with Texas State Board of Pharmacy required or eligible.
1+ year in pharmacy/compounding QC; experience with visual inspection of sterile products preferred.
Familiarity with USP <797> requirements for CSP inspection and release is desired.

Responsibilities

Perform 100% manual visual inspection of finished products to detect particulates, defects, leaks, and improper fill volumes.
Inspect non-sterile compounded preparations as per SOPs for quality attributes.
Quarantine and document defective products and route to QA for investigation.
Record inspection results in GDP-compliant systems and support trend reporting for process improvement.
Verify identity, lot traceability, and release criteria prior to dispensing.
