Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking a QC Technician to lead field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials on our construction projects.

The role involves coordinating with contractors and project managers, preparing detailed reports, and supporting project execution. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, with preferred ACI Level 1 certification or willingness to obtain it, and must be able to travel fully.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
• ACI Level 1 Field Technician Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Willing to travel 100%.

Responsabilités

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials.
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports on changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials.
• Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.

A typical day looks like:

Do you have what it takes?
