Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking a QC Technician to oversee field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials on our heavy civil construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma with preferred AS/BA in a related field, be willing to travel 100%, and possess ACI Level 1 certification or willingness to obtain it. Join IX for a stable career path and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required and associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
• ACI Level 1 Field Technician Certified or willing to obtain certification.
• Must have strong organizational skills to handle the variety of tasks assigned.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with internal teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage work on their own.
• Willing to 100% travel.

Responsabilités

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials.
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports on changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
• Perform calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials.
• Assist in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution.
• Participate in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.

A Typical Day Looks Like
