Job summary

Independence Excavating is seeking a QC Technician to lead field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials. The role involves communicating with project teams and reporting site conditions.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, with an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field a plus, and ACI Level 1 certification or willingness to obtain it. 100% travel is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
• ACI Level 1 Field Technician Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Must be able to travel 100% and communicate effectively with teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials.
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports on changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Prepares accurate daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials.
• Assist in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution.
• Participate in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?

• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with internal teams
• Demonstrated ability to manage work on their own
