Job summary

Independence Excavating is seeking a QC Technician to lead field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials on construction projects.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, ACI Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain), strong organizational skills, and the ability to travel 100%.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required, associate or bachelor’s in a related field is a plus.
• ACI Level 1 Field Technician certification preferred or willing to obtain certification.
• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage diverse tasks.
• Must communicate effectively with internal teams
• Willing to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials.
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports on changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials.
• Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?
