Job summary

Actalent is seeking a QC Scientist I to perform hands-on bench testing and support multisource pharmaceutical product development. The role includes chemical/physical analyses, sample preparation, and regulatory submission support, with training on HPLC and GC over time.

It operates within Oral Dose Solids and Nasals departments, following cGXP standards and SOPs. Work is based in Columbus, OH, with a contract-to-hire path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science field is required.
• Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred; other science backgrounds considered with strong chemistry lab experience.
• Strong chemistry laboratory experience, including wet chemistry and sample prep.
• Prior laboratory experience in non-academic settings preferred.
• Experience with reporting results and cross-functional collaboration.
• Commitment to cGXP guidelines and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine bench testing including sample prep and dilutions.
• Conduct chemical/physical analyses to support product development.
• Provide analytical support for release of registration materials.
• Assist with method validation and transfer activities.
• Carry out tasks to support development, release, and regulatory submissions.
• Maintain compliance with cGXP and company SOPs.
• Document observations and results clearly with data integrity.
• Collaborate with quality and manufacturing teams to complete tasks.
• Identify issues in analytical methods and support troubleshooting.
