Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Quality Assurance Team Leader to act as a hands-on on-the-floor leader, ensuring food safety, quality programs, and GMP compliance across our manufacturing facilities. You will cover for vacations and assist in training, while coordinating with management on QA duties and process improvements.

The role requires strong communication, ability to handle extended shifts, and a commitment to Publix standards and mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds, extended walking/standing (up to 14 hours a day), bending, squatting, and climbing ladders.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to demonstrate safe working habits.
• Ability to learn and perform all positions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of highly complex industrial/manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work well with others and be a team player.
• Ability to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Willingness to assist other team members in other areas.
• Ability to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time.
• Ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
• Possess basic math skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• On-the-floor participant with production associates and cover for vacations and unplanned absences.
• Schedule associate labor needs and coordinate with production teams.
• Lead and drive improvement of plant operations through continuous improvement projects.
• Track customer complaints, investigation and correspondence.
• Promote and enforce associate quality and food safety standards.
• Verify maintenance of equipment, preventive maintenance and work orders.
• Act as QA department point of contact in absence of QA manager.
• Communicate food safety and quality programs using training techniques.
• Understand production and execute department requirements.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices within the facility.
