Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Department Manager at our fresh kitchen manufacturing facility to lead a high-performing team, drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement across manufacturing lines. You will partner with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, develop talent, and uphold food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in production, a background in engineering/food science or related fields, and a commitment to safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in a production environment or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Ability to obtain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
• Strong managerial and leadership skills.
• Willingness to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to travel with overnight stays.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Excel, Outlook and Word.
• OSHA knowledge for safety.
• Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain production processes within the department.
• Ensure food quality and safety per HACCP, SQF and GMPs.
• Ensure associate safety by following OSHA regulations.
• Train and mentor production associates and participate in hiring.
• Provide direction, motivate teams, and evaluate performance.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
