Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Department Leader in Lakeland to support daily production and ensure GMPs and food safety standards are met. You will act as on-the-floor leader, cover for absences, coordinate breaks, oversee equipment maintenance, and assist managers with scheduling.

The role requires strong leadership, reliable attendance, the ability to work shifts including nights and weekends, and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain forklift license and operate forklift.
• Must be able to plan, organize and follow through on assignments.
• Must demonstrate leadership skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day tasks in the department and assist the Department Manager/Assistant Department Manager in their absence.
• Schedule production and plan as needed; coordinate breaks and lunches for the team.
• Monitor GMPs and oversee quality and food safety standards.
• Lead and train associates; write Skill Breakdown Sheets (SBSs) and conduct Job Instruction Training (JIT)
• Oversee equipment maintenance, PMs and work orders; analyze KPI data.
