Job summary

CHAMP is seeking an experienced QA Team Lead to own quality leadership across the SDLC in Cleveland. You will mentor engineers, define test strategies, and drive automation across API, integration, functional, and performance testing while aligning with CI/CD goals.

You’ll lead 1-on-1s, onboard new members, shape test design, and triage defects to strengthen our quality gates. A hands-on leader with strong communication is ideal.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on QA with 2+ years in leadership.
• Proven success with automation across API, integration, functional, performance tests.
• Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright and API testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of QA engineers.

• Participate in cross-functional Product/Dev/QA meetings.
• Coordinate sanity, smoke, and regression tests in CI/CD with testing pyramid.

• Collaborate with SDETs on left-shifted automation plans.

Your Impact

CHAMP is seeking an experienced and proactive QA Team Lead who is equally comfortable leading people as they are driving technical strategy. In this role, you'll own the full scope of quality leadership: from conducting 1-on-1s, onboarding new team members, overseeing release test planning, shaping test strategy, automation architecture, and defect triage across teams. We're looking for someone who will roll up their sleeves, dig into our existing automation suites, and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo in pursuit of better processes and stronger quality gates throughout our CI/CD pipeline.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of QA engineers,
• Design, deliver, and lead scalable test automation architecture encompassing API, integration, functional, and performance testing throughout each phase of our SDLC processes
• Cross-functional stakeholder meeting participation (Product/Dev/QA)
• Coordinate and plan sanity, smoke, and regression executions providing quality gates within our CI/CD pipeline in alignment with the “testing pyramid”
• Track metrics, create dashboards, assess risk and communicate upwards.
• Create test plans while collaborating with SDETs to support a “left-shifting” automation-first approach.

Requirement Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with an additional 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Proven track record of success (with real-world examples).
• Experience with various automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.) and API testing tools (Postman or similar).
• Experience analyzing error logs (e.g., CloudWatch or similar tools).
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar workflow management tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong business acumen and communication skills.
• Highly organized, with strong attention to detail.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 annually . This is a good faith estimate, and final compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
