Job summary

A confidential beverage manufacturer in the Roanoke area, VA is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the night shift to lead QA personnel on the production floor and in the laboratory.

You will drive food safety, quality and regulatory compliance, coach and develop staff, review laboratory results, investigate deviations, and collaborate with Production and other departments to maintain consistent product quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college or technical education in biology, chemistry, food science or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant manufacturing quality experience.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced production setting.
• Availability to work the stated overnight schedule, with flexibility for additional coverage.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the production floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, set daily priorities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and timely completion of work.
• Develop team members through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to address quality concerns and maintain food safety standards.
• Oversee assigned quality management programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Support compliance with regulatory, certification, customer, and product specifications.
• Review laboratory results for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify unfavorable trends.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing data and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with internal audits and external regulatory, certification, and customer assessments.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen product quality and customer satisfaction.
