Job summary

MDS Staffing has a confidential beverage manufacturer in the Roanoke area seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the night shift. You will lead QA personnel on the production floor and in the laboratory to ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include coaching, auditing, and partnering with departments to maintain product quality, while driving continuous improvement and preparing for certifications and customer assessments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable education in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced production setting.
• Availability to work the stated overnight schedule, with flexibility for additional coverage.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk production floors, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel on the production floor and in the laboratory.
• Set daily priorities and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and timely completion of work.
• Develop team members through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to address quality concerns and maintain food safety standards.
• Oversee QA programs, documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Review laboratory results for accuracy, investigate exceptions, identify unfavorable trends.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing data and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with internal audits and external regulatory, certification, and customer assessments.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to strengthen product quality and customer satisfaction.
