Job summary

Ashton North LLC in the Silver Spring area is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the 1st shift in a beverage manufacturing environment. This role leads QA personnel on the lab and production floor, ensuring products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.

The position involves coaching, data review, and collaboration with plant departments. The successful candidate will drive corrective actions, support audits, and lead continuous improvement to strengthen product quality

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college/technical education in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience in QA or manufacturing.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation, beverage processes, and microbiological or aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC).
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Availability to work first shift with flexibility for additional coverage when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, organize daily activities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and performance.
• Develop team members through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to resolve quality concerns and support food safety practices.
• Oversee assigned quality management programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Maintain compliance with product specifications, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and certification standards.
• Review laboratory data for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify trends requiring corrective action.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing results and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with regulatory, certification, customer, and internal audits.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen quality and customer satisfaction.
