Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for a first-shift role at a confidential beverage manufacturer in the Silver Spring area, MD.

The role leads QA personnel in the laboratory and on the production floor to ensure products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements. You will coach your team, review laboratory data, support audits, and partner with plant departments to improve processes and maintain consistent product quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college or technical education in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing/Quality Assurance role.
• Experience in beverage manufacturing and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation, beverage processes, and microbiological or aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with HPLC and GC.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, organize daily activities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and performance.
• Develop team members through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to resolve quality concerns and support food safety practices.
• Oversee assigned quality management programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Maintain compliance with product specifications, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and certification standards.
• Review laboratory data for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify trends requiring corrective action.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing results and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with regulatory, certification, customer, and internal audits.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen quality and customer satisfaction.
