Job summary

AIS Infrastructure Group is seeking an Assistant Quality Control Manager to support project QA/QC efforts on heavy civil construction sites across the United States. You will assist the Quality Control Manager, coordinate tests, review subcontractor deliverables, and help maintain rigorous documentation and data systems.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction QC with heavy civil exposure, strong testing knowledge, and excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction quality control, incl. 2–3 years in heavy civil projects.
• Familiar with soil and concrete testing.
• Knowledge of industry codes and regulations.
• Assists field and office engineers as needed.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve processes daily.
• Solid understanding of testing procedures, tolerances, and equipment.
• Experience with audits, regulatory compliance and risk assessment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Awareness of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team player.
• Proficiency with Excel and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Control Manager across all project aspects.
• Review and/or produce design and construction documents.
• Implement QA/QC protocol via submittals, RFIs, inspections, and testing.
• Enforce compliance with quality standards and safety.
• Oversee subcontractors and field supervision activities.
• Maintain documentation and reports.
• Coordinate with PMs, contractors, and clients to resolve quality issues.
• Drive continuous improvement of quality management systems.
• Support pre-bid, construction, and post-construction phases.
• Prepare Daily Construction Reports and support site safety program.
• Review drawings to ensure work tolerances are met.
